What is a bonded warehouse and how does it benefit me?
A bonded warehouse is a secure storage facility licensed by Australian Border Force where imported goods can be held without payment of customs duty and GST. Duty and tax are only payable when goods are released from bond into the Australian market. This is advantageous for importers who hold stock for extended periods, re-export goods to other countries, or want to defer duty payments to improve cash flow. MoveHaul's bonded facility in Sydney allows goods to be stored for up to five years under bond.
How do your pick-and-pack services work?
Once your inventory is received and catalogued in our warehouse management system, we process orders as they come in — either via electronic data interchange (EDI), API integration with your e-commerce platform, or manual order instructions. Our team picks the required items from stock, packs them according to your packaging specifications, applies shipping labels, and dispatches through your preferred carrier. You receive real-time updates on order status and stock levels through our client portal.
What types of goods can you store?
Our facilities accommodate a wide range of goods including general merchandise, electronics, machinery, building materials, retail products, and non-perishable food items. We handle palletised cargo, loose cartons, and oversized items. For goods requiring specific storage conditions, we offer segregated areas for hazardous materials (in compliance with Australian Standards) and climate-monitored zones. Goods requiring cold-chain storage can be accommodated through our partner refrigerated warehouse network.
Is there a minimum storage commitment?
No. MoveHaul offers flexible storage arrangements to suit your business needs. Whether you need short-term devanning and redistribution that takes a few days, or ongoing inventory storage for months at a time, we structure agreements based on your actual requirements. Storage is charged on a per-pallet or per-cubic-metre basis, calculated weekly or monthly depending on volume. There are no lock-in contracts for general warehousing, though long-term commitments may attract discounted rates.
Can you integrate with our existing systems?
Yes. Our warehouse management system supports integration with major e-commerce platforms including Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento, as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP and NetSuite.
